...I used to actually have time.
Now?
I have enough time to sleep, go to work, surface clean my house, be a wife, and be a mommy to two little boys that are my entire world.
Daily list of activities: Laundry, diaper change, outfit change, preparing meals, sweep/mop/dust, snacking, sippy cups/bottles, dishes, diaper change, outfit change, playtime, bathtime, new diapers, pajamas, bedtime stories, more dishes, etc.
I try to have me time in there too. Try to hang out with Iz when we are actually home at the same time. And then we split up the daily activities and might get an hour to hang out together.
Side note: I wouldn't change it for the world.
Emris just turned 2 on Sunday. Ian is 1 this Sunday. I must've blinked and time just started flying by. They are growing so quick...changing daily. I love all the good things they do, and even love all the not-so-good things they do.
We are an ever-changing, always-learning family. More than anything, we want to give our sons guidance, love & support to be the best little human beings they can be. So far, so good.
Emris is our sweet, loving, gentle, non-risk taker. He is a perfectionist. If he can't say a word, he doesn't. He won't even try until he can say it for sure. He likes to do right...always looking at his mom & dad for approval. He is sensitive. He gives hugs/kisses at the drop of a hat. He is an average size guy...always was since he was born. He loves milk, honey Kix cereal, pudding, yogurt and hamburgers (plain). His favorite thing in the world is Elmo. With any cat following a close second. He is starting to color and be creative with sidewalk chalk. He'd probably live outside if he could. He enjoys "fixing" things...his own toys, things around our house, his toddler bed. :) He's started potty training about 6 months ago...it's a work in progress. He knows what to do when he's on the potty, just doesn't tell us he has to go. He counts to ten (forward and back!). Says his ABC's. Loves saying "Bye, see ya!"
Ian. Oh sweet Ian. He's stubborn. Fiercely independent. Reckless. He was eating solid food at 6 months. Walking at 10 months. Waving/clapping at 7 months. Has a blood curdling scream like you've never heard. He thinks Emris is hilarious. He hates kisses...not a cuddly guy. His favorite food is seriously anything. I haven't given him one thing he doesn't like. He'd prefer formula over milk...but we are working on other type's of milk besides cows milk (he drank soy formula as an infant because he had digestion issues). So far, almond milk seems to be his top fave. He likes Elmo, but not as much as Em. He doesn't care for being outside, unless he's in a swing so he can nap. He'd rather be getting into things inside...making a mess...driving mommy bonkers. He has a few favorite pillow pets he sleeps with and carries around when he's sleepy. He loves screaming "dat dat" and saying "ball". His favorite thing is to throw a ball all day.
I have become somewhat anti-social media. I read an article that encouraged putting down all the media devices and actually being involved with your kids. Read to them. Play with them. Push them on the swings. So I've stepped back...but I don't want to be completely out of touch.
Thank you for reading my blog...I'm glad to be back.
